Updated Computer Class Information
Last week our volunteer instructors met to schedule our computer classes for the 1st Quarter 2010. Our updated schedule for February and March are now out. You can see the current class schedule on our website. To sign up for a class, call Jeri in our office at 252-3132 x 239.
In addition, we’ve decided to arrange our classes in a three-course sequence to give our students a stronger understanding of the computer program.
- Introductory: Computer/Internet Basics (4hrs), Word I (12hrs) and Excel I (12hrs)
- Advanced: Word II (12hrs), Excel II (12hrs) and Publisher (12hrs)
- Supplemental: Access (12hrs), PowerPoint (12hrs), and Keyboarding/Typing (8hrs)
The first and second track will be offered continuously throughout the year while classes in the third group will only be offered upon request. Please let Jeri know if you would like us to schedule a Access, Powerpoint or Keyboarding class. Once we get at least four student’s interested in the class, we will add it to the schedule.
We’ve are also working on standardizing the content of our classes to allow students who miss a class to only have to retake that particular class and not the complete course again to get the completion certificate.
